About FASS

FASS History

What began in 2007 as a casual get together of native French speakers led to a playgroup for French speaking children and then the formation of the Francophone Association of Southern Sydney. FASS started with 3 members and the meeting to set up the association took place in October 2009. By October 2011, membership exceeded 90 members.

FASS purposes and objectives:

1. promote Francophone culture and language
2. assist French-speaking people to integrate into the Australian way of life
3. assist Australians to embrace French history, culture and language

FASS membership today:

80 % Aussies
20 % French

Universal (individuals, couples,from 7 to 77 years old !)

90% Suth.Shire/St George
10% other areas
