Our film nights are not currently running due to COVID-19. We hope to resume in 2021.
Join us the first Friday of each month at Hazelhurst
The magic of cinema was born in France, with inventors Auguste and Louis Lumière claiming credit, and has developed to be celebrated internationally for its quality and expansive themes.
A Night of Entertainment
With so much choice provided by French speaking producers of movies, the difficulty lies in choosing just one movie to watch each month at FASS movie nights from the huge variety available.
Come and experience French cinema in all its diversity for a night of entertainment that has included old favourites, daring thrillers, raucous comedies and much more.
Recently we held a mini festival of Jacques Tati films that included the film Playtime in which the bumbling Monsieur Hulot becomes lost in an ultra-modern Paris with chaos ensuing, in a sight-gag bonanza, as he tries to locate someone. Critics acclaimed this movie as a ‘must see’ masterpiece that carries the perfect message for our troubled times.
Hazelhurst Regional Gallery – located at 782 Kingsway, Gymea – is the venue for FASS movie nights which take place in its state-of-the-art theatre.
